Trump Continues Efforts for City Approval to Expand Bronx Golf Course

The president-elect is seeking a redesign of the public course so it could hold major PGA tournaments like the Ryder Cup

President-elect Donald Trump is once again requesting that New York City officials grant him permission to expand his golf course in the Bronx.

Representatives from the Trump Organization presented plans for improving Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point on Monday at a community board meeting in the borough.

Trump is seeking a redesign of the public course bearing his name so it could hold major PGA tournaments such as the Ryder Cup.

The 18-hole course is owned by the city but Trump maintains the contract to run it.

Trump wants to extend the course into a 19.5-acre waterfront area that the city had earmarked for future public park land. The Trump Organization says part of the land would become a wildlife sanctuary.

City officials rejected Trump's request earlier this year.
