Suspect Wanted in Staten Island Attempted Rape: NYPD

New York City police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted rape in Staten Island.

The suspect, show in a surveillance video, followed a 20-year-old woman to her residence in the vicinity of Dongan Avenue and Manor Road at about 1:25 a.m. Tuesday and forced his way into her apartment, investigators said.

The woman told police that the man sexually abused her and attempted to rape her, but fled when she began to scream.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital after the incident and was reported to be in stable condition, police said.
