Plane Crash Lands in Robert Moses Park

A small plane made a dramatic emergency landing in Robert Moses State Park Friday afternoon.

The plane, which seemed to be a single engine high-wing Cessna, touched down just before 5:30 p.m. in the parking area for Field Five at the West Islip park.

Preliminary reports said there was only one person onboard, the pilot, and he was suffered only minor injuries.

Firefighters were on the scene.
