A police lieutenant who worked the World Trade Center site in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks has died from cancer, officials said Saturday.
Lt. Marci Simms, 51, contracted cancer from exposure to debris from the towers, said representatives of the 83rd, 66th and 107th precincts.
Funeral arrangements are still being made.
