Man Stealing Soap and Canned Peanuts Threatens to Shoot, Stab Dollar Store Employees: NYPD

Police are searching for a man who stole soap and canned peanuts from a Bronx dollar store and threatened to shoot and stab employees when they confronted him.

The man targeted a Family Dollar on Sound View Avenue in Clason Point back in May, according to police.

In the first robbery, an employee saw the man grabbing soap from shelves and putting them in a black garbage bag. When she confronted him, the man told her he would shoot her with a gun.

The next day, the man returned to the Family Dollar and started putting canned peanuts in his jacket. When he was confronted by another employee, he told him that he had a knife and would stab him, police said.

The man took off with the soap and canned peanuts. Police released surveillance video of him. They said he appears to be in his mid 30s to mid 40s.

The NYPD asks anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
