A fire broke out on a track at Queensboro Plaza on Friday evening.
The fire ignited sometime before 5 p.m. at the subway hub in Long Island City, just as rush hour was taking off.
Photos posted to social media show flames on the tracks and smoke rising above the multi-level station near the Queensboro Bridge.
It is unclear what started the fire.
Social media users said the fire was quickly put out, although this has not been confirmed.
