Fire Burns Through Bronx Apartment Building: FDNY

Flames shot out of a Bronx apartment building Monday morning as firefighters tried to get control of the blaze, the FDNY said.

The fire started shortly before 5:45 a.m. in a three-story building in Unionport.

NBC New York’s chopper captured video of firefighters entering the upper floors of the building as an FDNY tower ladder was stationed outside.

Firefighters had been on the roof of the Olmstead Avenue building at some point, but got off of it as the flames grew to about 20 feet high and the amount of smoke increased.

The building appears to have a deli on the ground floor and apartments on the upper two floors.

No injuries have been reported.
