The MTA says service from Manhattan to Montauk is returning amid questions raised last year about overcrowding and excessive drinking.
The agency said Wednesday the LIRR's Cannonball service will resume on May 27.
The train will depart Penn Station at 4:06 p.m. every Friday and stop in the Hamptons and Montauk. The return train will leave Montauk on Sundays at 6:37 p.m.
A train from Penn Station to Montauk is also planned for Thursdays. Several additional trains to Montauk from different areas are planned on Fridays.
Customers on the Far Rockaway, Long Beach, West Hempstead, Oyster Bay and Port Washington branches could see service time changes and may require vans or buses in some stretches.
