Michael Cohen Says Trump Knew About WikiLeaks Email Dump

President Trump's former personal lawyer is planning to tell a House committee that Trump knew ahead of time that WikiLeaks had emails damaging to Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, and that he is a "racist," a "conman" and a "cheat." In a draft of his opening remarks obtained by the Associated Press, Michael Cohen suggests Trump also implicitly told him to lie about a Moscow real estate project. Cohen has pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about the project, which he says Trump knew about as Cohen was negotiating with Russia during the election. Cohen says Trump did not directly tell him to lie, but "he would look me in the eye and tell me there's no business in Russia and then go out and lie to the American people by saying the same thing." Cohen says "in his way, he was telling me to lie." He adds lawyers for Trump had "reviewed and edited" the statement in which Cohen falsely said a proposal for a Trump Tower in Moscow had been abandoned in January 2016. Cohen has since acknowledged he continued pursuing the project for months after that. The document containing Cohen's prepared testimony was leaked to several news outlets but has not been authenticated by NBC News. There may be differences in his final delivery.

Donald Trump, Kim Jong Un Kick Off Second Nuclear Summit

U.S. President Trump met North Korea's Kim Jong Un in Vietnam, kicking off their second face-to-face meeting. The leaders shook hands and, after Trump answered a few questions, shared a laugh in front of a row of their nations' flags. "I think we'll be very successful," Trump said. He added that he had not backed down on denuclearization. Trump and Kim are scheduled to meet for 20 minutes before sitting down for what the White House has described as a "social dinner" together. Earlier, Trump had enthusiastically waved a tiny Vietnamese flag as he sought to convince that his nation could thrive economically like Vietnam if he would end his pursuit of nuclear weapons.

20 Killed, 40 Hurt in Fire at Cairo Train Station, Egypt Says

Egypt has raised the casualty toll from a major fire that erupted in Cairo's central train station, saying there are 20 dead and more than 40 injured so far. The country's general prosecutor has ordered investigation. The prosecutor, Nabil Sadek, sent a team of investigators to the Ramsis train station in downtown Cairo, where the huge blaze was still underway. Railway authorities said earlier that the train crashed into the station following an explosion of its fuel tank.

Janet Jackson to Launch Las Vegas Residency in May

Janet Jackson is heading to Las Vegas. The pop icon announced she's launching a residency in Sin City later this year. Jackson will have 15 shows in May, July and August at the Park Theater at Park MGM resort. Tickets for the residency, called Metamorphosis, go on sale Saturday. Jackson, 52, joins a long list of singers who have had residencies in Vegas, including Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, the Backstreet Boys and Mariah Carey.

During the candid conversation, the 46-year-old longtime actress revealed how the chronic illness has impacted her body and her speech. "I am very happy to see you, being able to just put out what being in the middle of an aggressive form of multiple sclerosis is like," she said, her speaking audibly affected. "I have spasmodic dysphonia right now." The star further reflected on how she finally got diagnosed after knowing for years that something was wrong. "I cried," she recalled. "They weren't tears of panic. They were tears of knowing I now had to give in to a body that had loss of control and there was some relief in that."
