LIRR Service Resumes After Truck Accident

Long Island Rail Road says service has resumed with delays after a truck crash in Queens delayed or canceled trains during the evening rush.

A truck hit a LIRR bridge near Woodside, causing delays of up to 45 minutes and some cancellations.

Crowds swelled at Penn Station as they waited for trains to start moving, forcing authorities at one point to restrict access into the station.

Last week, signal problems severely delayed LIRR trains, causing an hours-long nightmare for commuters.
