1. Thief Steals $1,000 From Girl Scouts at New Jersey Mall

Police say two thieves stole more than $1,000 from a group of Girl Scouts who were selling cookies at a New Jersey mall.

Woodbridge Township police say the theft occurred between 4:20 p.m. and 4:50 p.m. Friday on the upper level of the Woodbridge Center mall.

The money — about $500 in cash and several checks — had been placed in a bank envelope and left unattended on a table where members of Girl Scout Troop 80062 were making their sales.

2. Surprise Ending: New Chapter for Beloved NYC Bookstore

The story of a beloved Upper West Side used bookstore that was about to close just got a surprise ending.

Westsider Rare and Used Bookstore, on Broadway between 80th and 81st streets, was expected to close next month.

Owner Dorian Thornley said the problem was low sales.

3. Spend More Than $1,000 at Dinner for 2 at Eleven Madison Park

If you are planning on taking a special someone to dinner at certain New York hot spots, check your bank account because it can cost you a pretty penny. 

A dinner for two at Thomas Keller's Per Se costs more than $700. 

And a dinner date, with wine, at the swanky Eleven Madison Park will top $1,100.
