1. Couple, Teen Killed After Police Chase Ends in Crash: Cops

A teenager in a stolen car drove away from cops until he crashed with another vehicle, killing a couple in that car and one of his passengers, his half brother, police said.

The couple that died in the Saturday night crash in Yaphank, Jerome and Randee Weingarten, was turning into their gated community after a Saturday night out when they were struck, police said.

An officer spotted a Nissan Rogue that had been reported stolen after its driver failed to stop at a stop sign on Main Street in Yaphank, Suffolk County police said.

2. New Roadway on Elevated Bayonne Bridge to Open Monday

The main, four-lane roadway on the elevated Bayonne Bridge is scheduled to open, marking another milestone in the nearly six-year, $1.7 billion project that has opened New Jersey's ports to larger cargo ships.

Since February 2017, motorists have used one lane in each direction on the upper span connecting New Jersey and Staten Island.

Starting Monday, they'll have the use of two lanes in each direction and added shoulders.

3. NYPD Dog Picks a Side in Chicago vs. New York Pizza Debate

An NYPD dog waded into controversial waters by picking a side in an ongoing Twitter debate between New York and Chicago police over which city has the best pizza.

In a video posted by NYPD Chief of Counterterrorism James R. Waters on Twitter, an “Explosives Detection Canine” named Abe was offered two different boxes: one with Chicago-style pizza and one with New York-style pizza.

The police dog ignored the Chicago-style slice, but started sniffing the box and wagging his tail when offered the New York-style slice, the video shows.
