2 Stabbed, Found in Fire in East Harlem Apartment

The NYPD had a suspect in custody Saturday night

Police say a woman was stabbed to death and man was slashed and seriously wounded in an East Harlem apartment where they were found amid a fire.
 
The NYPD had a suspect in custody Saturday night, within six hours after the victims were found.
 
Police and firefighters were called to a blaze around 4:30 p.m. at a 10th-floor apartment on Park Avenue and 132nd Street. They extinguished the small fire and found the 55-year-old woman with stab wounds to her torso and the 32-year-old man with wounds in the torso and head. 
 
He's in critical condition.
 
Police say they soon got the suspect's name and description. Based on the description, officers stopped him at a nearby subway station and took him into custody.
