Conn. Woman Accused of Fatally Shooting Boyfriend

A Connecticut woman Was arrested Sunday for allegedly shooting and killing her boyfriend during an argument in which she said he assaulted her, investigators said.

Greiselle Pizarro, 36, of Bridgeport, was charged with murder and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Her boyfriend, Jacob Lopez, was found at about 1:30 a.m., shot in the chest outside his pickup truck on Huntington Turnpike, said police spokesman William Kaempffer.

Lopez told police Pizarro had shot him, Kaempffer said. He died at about 6 a.m. at Bridgeport Hospital.

Pizarro told police Lopez physically assaulted her as they sat in the truck talking.

Pizarro told investigators she took a gun from her purse during the assault and fired several shots, Kaempffer said. She then she walked home, where police found her. They recovered a .40-caliber handgun that is believed to have been used in the shooting.

It was unclear whether Pizarro has an attorney.
