Clumsy Burglar Leaves Blood Across Bar of Brooklyn Restaurant: Police

Police are looking for a clumsy burglar who was caught on camera knocking over chairs and spreading blood across the bar of a Brooklyn restaurant.

Officials said the break-in happened Dec. 1 at about 6 a.m. at Pok Pok, NY on Columbia Street.

Surveillance video shows the man break through a window and stumble onto a table, knocking it and some chairs over in the process. He then fumbles around the inside of the restaurant for several minutes before trying to unsuccessfully smash open the restaurant’s cash register.

The man eventually leaves the restaurant without taking anything.

Police said the man jumped on a B61 bus and fled the scene.

While no money was stolen, the window, furniture and cash register were damaged.

The man has not yet been identified, but police said they were investigating DNA samples taken from the scene. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
