Good Samaritan Saves 2 After Car Crashes, Bursts Into Flames

A Good Samaritan pulled a driver and passenger from a car after it crashed and burst into flames Friday in Yonkers, authorities say.

Police say the car was traveling north on the Saw Miller River Parkway shortly before 1:30 a.m. when it went off the road near Tuckahoe Road and apparently hit a tree.

Video from the scene showed the vehicle completely engulfed in roaring flames.

Both the driver and the passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing. Authorities say there is no indication alcohol or drugs were involved.
