Video Shows Alleged Shoplifter Attacked by Store Employees

The video captures the alleged shoplifter being dragged and beaten around the store on Flatbush Avenue as three employees bite him and take his clothes off

A video showing 7-Eleven employees biting and tearing the clothes off of a man they say shoplifted from their Brooklyn store has prompted the owner of the store to fire one worker and discipline two others.

The video captures the alleged shoplifter being dragged and beaten around the store on Flatbush Avenue as three employees bite him and take his clothes off. It was uploaded by a witness to YouTube (warning, the video contains graphic images and language.)

By the end of the video, the man's clothing is ripped to shreds.

The manager of the store said he was on the phone with the police when the video was being recorded, and police say they arrived shortly after the employees called the police.

Store workers claimed the man had stolen from the store before. They say he stole a box of Snickers.

A 7-Eleven spokesperson told NBC 4 New York that they are aware of the invident, and said corporate policy and training prohibits workers from getting into physical altercations with suspected criminals.

The company said the store owner fired one worker, and the other two employees involved in the altercation were being retrained.
