A 6-foot sand tiger shark was caught Wednesday night in Ocean City, N.J.
The fisherman, known locally as "Shark Tony," was in a kayak about 200 yards off-shore near 58th Street beach when he caught the giant shark.
Witnesses say after a group of people gathered to look at the shark and snap some pictures, they released it back into the water.
The Marine Mammal Stranding Center says it was a 6-foot sand tiger shark. Wildlife experts say swimmers should not be alarmed and sand tiger sharks are not known to attack people.
