Two people inside a Ronkonkoma home were shot through the door early Thursday morning, police say.
Suffolk police say a man and a woman were inside the house on Pawnee Street when they were shot through the front door at about 4 a.m.
Police believe the gun man stood outside the doorway and fired.
They were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A man who identified himself as the fiance of the woman said she's in critical condition.
He said his son, who's in his 20s, was the other shooting victim. The man did not want to be identified for fear he may become the next victim.
Detectives closed off most of Pawnee Street near Richmond Boulevard while they investigated.
One neighbor said she heard three gunshots. Others say police have been called to the house in the past, though they're not sure why.
