Two men and a woman died and another man was critically hurt in a wrong-way crash on the Grand Central Parkway, the NYPD said. 

The crash happened in the westbound lanes of the parkway, near Exit 24 in Little Neck, around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, police said. 

Police say a 39-year-old man was driving a Honda Accord east in the left westbound lane on the parkway when he collided with a Hyundai traveling west.

The 39-year-old driver and his 36-year-old male passenger were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The 26-year-old man driving the Hyundai was also taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. His female passenger, whose age wasn't immediately released, was pronounced dead.

It wasn’t immediately clear why the Honda driver was traveling in the wrong direction. Police didn't immediately release the names of the victims.

The westbound lanes of the parkway were closed near the Cross Island Parkway after the crash, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
