Teacher Injured After Car Crashes Through School Window

A woman crashed an SUV through a basement window of a New Jersey School Friday, injuring one person and frightening students, staff and parents.

The woman, an employee at the James Madison School in Garfield, apparently put her car into drive instead of reverse, while trying to pull out of a parking spot, authorities said.

No students were hurt, but a gym teacher had to be hospitalized after being injured by broken glass from the crash.

Parents received a reverse 911 call explaining no children had been injured.

"At first my heart went into my stomach because the first thing I'm thinking is my little ones here," said relieved parent, Kenny Hollie.

No charges are expected and police are calling the crash an accident.
