A car T-boned a tractor-trailer in Sunnyside early Saturday, killing the driver and critically injuring a teenage passenger, police said.
A Toyota Corolla sedan struck the big rig on Queens Boulevard and Skillman Avenue, coming to rest under the trailer, police said.
Steven Narvaez, 28, of Woodside, died at the scene, police said. A 17-year-old girl who was his passenger was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The truck driver remained on the scene. No one has been arrested.
It wasn't clear whether the rain was a factor in the crash. Thunderstorms moved across the city Saturday morning.
