Police say a 95-year-old man has been killed in a collision with a logging truck on a road in New York's Southern Tier.
The Steuben County Sheriff's Office says Randall Whiteman of Bath was driving west on state Route 417 around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday when he drove into the rear of a logging truck making a left turn in the town of Tuscarora, on the Pennsylvania border 40 miles southwest of Rochester.
Whiteman was taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania, where he later died from his injuries.
Deputies say their investigation at the scene revealed Whiteman didn't apply the brakes or attempt to make any evasive steering to avoid hitting the truck.
The truck driver suffered minor injuries.
