The Germanwings plane that crashed Tuesday with 150 souls aboard went down in the same part of the French Alps as another doomed flight that slammed into a mountain some 62 years ago, NBC News reported. On Sept. 1, 1953, an Air France-operated Lockheed L-749A Constellation flying to Nice crashed into 10,000-foot-tall Mont Cimet, near the remote villiage of Barcelonette. The crash claimed the lives of all nine crewmembers and 33 passengers aboard, including celebrated violinist Jacques Thibaud.
