Can a $43 million makeover of the nasty tangle of streets, elevated subway lines and roadways turn Queens Plaza into a "grand gateway to Queens"? Uh, okay. In any case, a much-delayed redo is moving forward with redesigned intersections, sidewalks and medians to allow pedestrians to get across the street without being crushed by cars. It will also turn some parking lots into a 1.5-acre park, put in a bike path and do other things. Add some new buildings like this and get rid of this thing and it's a brand new Queens Plaza, right?
