What You're Doing Tonight, 4/8

Katy Perry does you-know-what, a poetry smorgasbord, and power and fashion: discuss

PERRY AND THRUST: We saw Katy Perry live, and we liked it. Listen, she may have started out a one-trick pony, but any girl who can pull off drag -- as Freddie Mercury -- deserves (at least) a second chance. She'll be at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza tonight, 8PM.

THERE ONCE WAS A MAN FROM NANTUCKET: Hey, did you know it's National Poetry Month? Yup. And what better way to fete the verse than browsing the 17th Annual Poet's House Showcase at Jefferson Market Library? More than 2,000 new volumes of verse -- from teeny zines to major anthologies -- will be on display. Until 8PM on Weds., through Saturday.

MAKE IT WORK: Style biz notables descend on the Power and Fashion panel at CUNY's Graduate Center tonight (we hear Anna Sui will be on hand!) to analyze the role of fashion in the world economy. Spoiler: It's totally important. 7PM.
