With 1,100 brides-to-be and their loyal maids and mothers (and, in some casees, truly angelic male family members and friends) lined up down the block, an army of dress shoppers stormed this morning's annual Filene's Basement Running of the Brides.
As we observed, shoppers were more than willing to run, scream, scuffle, and bargain for the 2,000-plus dresses, priced at $249, $499 and $699 from retail prices approaching $10,000.
