Royal Engagement Pics: Casual & Cuddly (And a White Dress That Will Surely Sell Out)

Mario Testino shot betrothed couple Prince William and Kate Middleton for their dressed-up and dressed-down engagement photos.

The couple released two pictures posed in some form of embrace, marking a departure from the traditionally more buttoned-up royal engagement portraits.

In the more formal of the two, Kate wears an ivory Reiss dress that retails around $250 (the "Nanette", available again in January), and, in addition to her sapphire engagement ring, accessorizes with Links of London Hope Egg earrings in white topaz (read: not diamonds). For the close-up of the pair, Middleton switched to a roughly $150 Whistles top she's had for two years, and which, not surprisingly, the chain has decided to re-release as the "Kate" blouse.

Lucky Kate—not only because she's found her prince, but because she's been christened a fashion innovator simply for shopping her own closet. We like it.
