Rodarte to Design Costumes for New York City Ballet

The major players from "Black Swan" are reuniting this spring for a special new ballet, which will have its global premiere at the New York City Ballet's spring gala in May.

Rodarte's Laura and Kate Mulleavy will create the costumes for the ballet, choreographed by Benjamin Millepied -- a former NYCB dancer who also choreographed the dance scenes in "Black Swan." To make the experience complete, Racked NY reports that Millepied's wife, Natalie Portman, will serve as the gala's chair.

To be fair, the depth of Rodarte's collaboration on the "Black Swan" costumes has been disputed (most notably by the movie's costume designer, Amy Westcott), but the designers have since collaborated with Millepied on a production for the Dutch National Ballet, and will be the primary designers on this new work.

Orchestra seating won't come cheap (it's the gala, after all), but seats in the less tantalizing sections start at just $29 for those itching to get a glimpse of the costumes in action.
