By now, you'd think most New Yorkers would have been exposed to the magic that is Muji. But some, like style writer Armand Limnander, are just getting on board. Limnander's penned a love letter to the minimalistic brand for T Magazine, stating that Muji's "frill-free philosophy seems particularly on-target now that the design world is veering toward understatement and familiar shapes instead of the 'forward-thinking' (read: overdesigned) gizmos and doodads that we have gotten so used to lately."
The brand's design adviser Naoto Fukasawa states, 'Simple is not a style — it is a state of harmony.' And we have to say that shopping for home goods at Muji is so much more relaxing than shopping at that palace of overstimulation, Bed Bath & Beyond. But we joined the cult long ago.
