Shop a French-Themed Designer Collab

In light of the first nice nice day out in recent memory, we thought it appropriate to check out Sophie Theallet's Parisian summer-themed shoe collaboration (which hit nationwide Nine West stores yesterday) in person.

When we chatted with her back in February, she was betting on girls wearing her flats by day and her stacks by night.

And while we, admittedly, were initially torn over the flats-to-jazz style spectrum (read: the Pila flats ($79) seemed a tad too round and conservative, the Mary stilettos ($99) were towering on display and online) we'll say this: Try them on. We did.

(Editor's note: Just about everything in the the Rockefeller Center outpost is 40 percent off right now.)

All of the styles — towering platform stacks included — are incredibly padded. And for another, the shirred grosgrain (which cuts a mean line around the low-cut flats styles and woven espadrilles) is much sharper in person.

We're predicting the woven and satchel bag styles — which have more instant shelf appeal — will be crowd-pleasers, too. But give them a try: Theallet's French-themed soles certainly translate.
