Queens Man Gets 8 Years for Molotov Cocktail Attack

A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for hurling bottles full of flammable liquid at a Queens middle school he attended years before.

Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said Konstantin Mavrikos pleaded guilty to second-degree arson.

He's accused of tossing a beer bottle full of gasoline against the back wall of the William H. Carr Junior High School in March this year.

The next day he threw another Molotov cocktail at the school's front steps when there were children in the school and in the playground.

There were no injuries in either incident and only minor damage to the school.
