Where '08 Investment Sales Have Come From

It's going to be a comparatively dismal year for Manhattan investment sales. In the first nine months of 2007, $42.4 billion in buildings and building portfolios traded, according to Cushman & Wakefield numbers covering deals of at least $10 million. In the first nine months of this year, $18.7 billion did.

Above is the C&W breakdown of Manhattan investment sales as of Sept. 30. Class A office properties dominated the trades, comprising over 55 percent. It drops from there.
