1 p.m. The reopening of the Staten Island Railroad (SIRR) in 2007 after the completion of a $75 million rehabilitation, has now allowed SIRR to offer “direct flight” service to a number of cities throughout the Midwest and Northeast. NYC Economic Development Corporation president Seth Pinsky and Port Authority executive director Christopher Ward will be among those on hand to announce the railroad’s new intermodal service.
