Noticed less of those Department of Health stickers lately? The Post tells us why: “About 20 percent of the city's eateries — as many as 5,000 food joints — have gone unchecked since July 2007,” meaning that instead of the 1,057 restaurants shuttered in 2008, only 667 have been closed this year. Expect more closings, however, as the agency scrambles to catch up. [NYP]
