PR maven Kelly Cutrone said she didn't think the "Jersey Shore" cast needed any tips on how to promote themselves and likened the show to this generation's "Saturday Night Fever."
"[MTV] should shoot them in white suits, reenacting on the GW Bridge, from New York to the Palisades Interstate," Cutrone told Niteside at the Wired Store's annual launch party for a gallery space and pop-up shop last week.
"I also think it's the new 'Saturday Night Fever.'
Cutrone confessed she has never seen an episode of the wildly popular MTV reality show series chronicling the lives of hard-partying twentysomethings but said she and "Jersey" star The Situation split a ride to the hotel following an MTV award show. She also said Snooki's hometown in upstate New York is close to her country house.
"She's not from New Jersey," Cutrone said. "I think that's interesting."
A reality starlet in her own right, Cutrone said she had no image-making tips for the wild bunch.
"I actually don't really think that they need advice," Cutrone said. "Aren't they, like, the most popular icons?"
She quipped, "And I also think MTV should be selling the duck phone. But I'm talent now so nobody really listens to my branding ideas."
