Lit Lounge in the East Village turns nine tonight, and Paul Sevigny will be on hand to D.J. the celebration. Sevigny certainly owes a debt to the bi-level rock club. His Beatrice Inn mimicked Lit's grunge-chic formula to great success (and a more upmarket brand of hipster) until the party ended early in 2009. Given Lit's (and its bathrooms') druggie, smokey reputation, it's a small nightlife miracle the joint has avoided raids and padlocks for nearly a decade. Even if the bar has cleaned up its act to survive, debauchery shouldn't be too hard to spot during tonight's special occasion. [Brooklyn Vegan]
