Helmut Lang Skips MePa for Soho

Elle reports that Helmut Lang's Washington Street store (which closed quietly last week) will reopen February 8 in Soho at the corner of Spring and Mercer streets.

While Theory owns Helmut Lang (and has its own store in Soho already) this means that New York shoppers will have one more door to shop Olivier Theyskens' much-buzzed-about, just-launched in-house label collection.

Racked NY reports that the 819 Washington Street location will soon be home to Improvd -- a concept helmed by Atrium New York owner Sam Ben-Avraham and Diesel vet Valentino Vettori -- sometime during Fashion Week.
