Gaga's Stylist Opens Shop Downtown

When news broke earlier this summer that Nicola Formichetti (a.k.a. Gaga's BFF and stylist) was planning a fashion week pop-up shop with local design non-profit BOFFO, we weren't sure what to expect.

We assumed that it would be conceptual and cool. But we weren't certain that it would be a store that people would actually, well, shop.

As it turns out, it happens to be all three: A mirror ball of a space stocking everything from leather machine gun bras and $700 hammered skull bracelets to $40 iPhone covers and free sticker decals.

According to Formichetti (who admitted having to nix a plan for a rolling layer of fog throughout the store) everything from the prices to the pieces were created for people to do that just that.

"I remember being younger and going into great stores, trying to find the least expensive thing to actually purchase," he told us of his days as a younger London shopboy on a budget. "I wanted to make sure there there was something everyone could buy or have. There are so many beautiful stores here in NYC for just shopping. I wanted to make sure that this was something different, too."

Click through for a closer look at the shop, which runs now through September 21.
