New York Road Runners is throwing a New Year's Eve party for people whose idea of a good time involves sweat more than Champagne.
And why not? It's a great way to start 2012 off healthfully.
The Emerald Nuts Midnight Run will start at 10 p.m. at Central Park's 72nd Street Transverse just South of Cherry Hill and will go for four miles.
Afterward, there will also be a costume parade and contest, and plenty of fireworks and dancing. All runners will get a long-sleeve shirt and a special souvenir.
It's $35 for NYRR members and $40 for nonmembers if you register before Friday, and $45 and $50 after that. You must register by Dec. 26. Go here for more.
