Fashion Week News: Weekend Recap

Highlights from New York Fashion Week:

Zac Posen clearly won the award for most star power on the runway with Naomi Campbell opening the show. Other special guest models included Angelina Lindvall, Karolina Kurkova, and of course, designer favorite, Coco Rocha, who closed the show in a mind-blowing classic Posen satin gown.

The only lights flashing at Alexander Wang's Saturday show was from the glow-in-the-dark ensembles the designer surprised guests with close to the end of the show, as guests were asked to refrain from using flash photography upon entering Pier 94. Wang had another surprise up his sleeve when actress Liberty Ross walked the runway as a model.

If you were on any form of social media this weekend, especially Instagram, you felt as if you were at a NYFW after party with everyone else. The most notable parties were Alexander Wang's epic rager held in a bank with performances from Die Antwoord and Busta Rhymes, Prabal Gurung's where the designer himself sang karaoke with Hilary Rhoda and many other fashion A-listers, and Opening Ceremony's bash where Lil Kim rocked the house with diamonds covering her chest, naturally.

As expected, Victoria Beckham's modern body-conscious dresses comprised her Spring 2013 collection, but the designer included some looser separates this time around. A notable highlight was a very special front row guest, her husband David Beckham.

Going to a ball? Christian Siriano's spring 2013 collection's got you covered. The designer's collection is fit for the modern day Cinderella.

Catherine Malandrino redefines "American Royalty" marrying romantic French style with American sportswear.

"Whimsy," "magical" and "otherworldly" were words Thakoon used to describe his RTW collection, with bird motifs and other vibrant prints. Style.com reported that "the beginning of the show was not only Panichgul's prettiest work to date, it was also his most accomplished."
