Dirty Thirties Going Fast at Diesel Union Square

We thought standing in line for three hours to get into the Hermès sale was bad: This morning, the wait to enter Diesel's Union Square store to buy a pair of their limited-edition Dirty Thirty jeans was almost four hours long. Why? Well, only 30,000 pairs of Dirty Thirties were made, and NYC only got 2,000 of them. When we finally made it inside the store (after getting our hand stamped to ensure we didn't get back on line for another pair), we headed down to the basement where the jeans, priced at $41, were being doled out by Diesel staffers. A few notes on the fit: the denim is very stiff, the waist is very low and the legs are skinny, but not drainpipe-tight. Select men's and women's sizes were sold out by 1:30pm; staffers said they were sure that the store would completely sell out by the end of the day.
