A First Look at SHO Shaun Hergatt, Opening Monday

SHO Shaun Hergatt opens Monday in the financial district’s Setai condos, and at 12,500 square feet, it’s probably one of the splashiest spaces we’ve seen since At Vermilion and Pranna. The front bar and lounge is appointed with mother-of-pearl surfaces, silk-covered walls, and an infinity-edge pool; then, past a wine gallery (there are 550 bottles on offer), there are three private dining rooms (including a “tasting room,” where the walls double as wine cases) as well the main dining room, or rather “dining cube,” which has a glass-walled open kitchen. The eponymous chef is a Ritz-Carlton veteran coming from the Setai’s Miami location, and he’s offering what’s described as a modern French-accented menu that also draws on Asian ingredients and is influenced by his native Australia. Below, a closer look at the space and a link to the menu. Note that for all its design flourishes—Bronze tables! Brazilian walnut and terrazzo floors!—the place had to settle for a 347 area code? Well, really.
