A Classic Brand Marches Back Into NYC

The Perry Ellis-owned Original Penguin Brand is eyeing a third NYC location as part of a major expansion across the U.S. and the rest of the world, WWD reports.

Accordingly, the brand, which currently operates shops on the Upper West Side and Soho, intends to launch five to seven stores across the country, and seven to 10 abroad, in addition to the slated Manhattan outpost.

Last Fashion Week, Richard Chai unveiled what merchandising SVP Ann Payne called a collaboration "teaser collection" to hit stores this spring.

The brand is also adding denim to the mix, as well as expanding upon its womenswear offerings.

Stay tuned for updates on when -- and where -- the newest Penguin might march in.
