Dennis Freedman Replaces Simon Doonan as Creative Director at Barneys

Ever since Mark Lee took the reins as CEO of Barneys, staffing changes have abounded, and the latest is a doozy: Simon Doonan, the charismatic and funny creative director of Barneys for nearly 25 years, is being replaced.

Dennis Freedman, who was the founding creative director of W Magazine (he left shortly after Stefano Tonchi took the wheel at the glossy), will take over as creative director at the It-retailer. Doonan, meanwhile, has been promoted to the interesting title of Creative Ambassador-at-Large, a role that will take him out and into the world as a spokesperson for the brand. [The Feast NY]
