Harvard Turns Designer: Ivy League Catches Fashion Bug

The Ivy-League look.

advertisement

Harvard has apparently caught the design bug. In what seems to be the first instance ever of a University launching a ready-to-wear collection, the Ivy leager has teamed with tailored clothing manufacturer Wearwolf Group to create the line Harvard Yard, which takes its inspiration from Harvard's historically preppy style. Looks include "short-sleeve plaid shirts, Liberty print wovens, seersucker shorts, regimental stripes, sporty knits, patterned jackets and fancy pants — all in a contemporary, tapered fit," says WWD. While the debut collection, which launches this spring, is just for men, Wearwolf Group also hopes to expand the new brand's repertoire to include women's and children's wear in the future. [WWD]
