Daily News

The Daily News was named to the list of Time Magazine's 10 Most Endangered Newspapers in America.

Another day, another story about the death of newspapers - and in the case of Time Magazine's 10 Most Endangered Newspapers in America, it includes our very own Daily News.

Time says news for the News is bleak because it doesn't have the benefit of being owned by a megaglomerate like the Post (real-estate bigwig Mort Zuckerman pays the tab) and it's a crowded field, to boot. How many other places in America - nay, the world - have four major dailies to cover a single city? (This is why the New York Sun barely made a dent, and shuttered within two years of operation.)

The News is in good company, at least: Other major dailies on doomwatch, according to Time, include the Boston Globe, the Miami Herald, and the San Francisco Chronicle.
