The bass player for a band that was going to open for Soundgarden was charged with robbing a Massachusetts Walgreen's for Oxycontin before the show.

Michael Todd, bassist for Coheed and Cambria went into the Attleboro store Sunday afternoon, hours before the show, according to police. He gave the pharmacist a note that said he had a bomb and then made off with six bottles of the painkiller, police said. The 30-year-old rocker fled in a cab to the Comcast Center in Mansfield, where the band was scheduled to perform.

Todd was arrested at the concert hall before the show, and the band played without him. He's scheduled to be arraigned today.

"Michael Todd was arrested today on what we consider very serious charges and therefore he will not be finishing up the current tour," the band said i a statement on its website. "Wes Styles, long time member of the Coheed family will take on bass duties starting tomorrow for the remaining dates. No shows will be canceled."

Formed in Nyack, N.Y., in the mid-1990s, the alternative rock band has released five albums that revolve around a science fiction storyline known as The Armory Wars.
