Utah wildlife officials want to speak to a man who was seen by a hiker in the Ben Lomond range of the Salt Lake City mountains dressed as a goat this past weekend, The Associated Press reported on Friday.

While Phil Douglass of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources said the man wasn't breaking the law, he's concerned for his safety. Goat season begins in the mountains above Ogden in September, when 60 permitted hunters will be in the area. Douglass also said the wild goats the man was traveling with could be dangerous.

The hiker who saw him on Sunday said the "Goat Man" was walking down a hill on his hands and knees towards a herd of wild goats.

The hiker, Cody Creighton, also managed to take a few photos and Douglass said it was clear they weren't altered.

Douglass believes the man is a wildlife enthusiast.

Creighton told a Fox affiliate in Salt Lake City that the man was wearing a "furry, matted" home-made goat suit, with leather gloves. Creighton said he believes they were the only two people in the area. According to Crighton, they spent several minutes just looking at one another before "Goat Man" continued his way down the hill.
