Police have charged a Brooklyn man in connection with a road rage incident that left another man hospitalized.

They said William Festo rammed his Lexus into a Ford Fusion driven by 23-year-old Caleb Applewhaite of Jackson Friday afternoon on the Garden State Parkway in Tinton Falls.

Applewhaite's car went off the shoulder and hit a tree.

Police said the 34-year-old Festo got out of his car and continued to threaten Applewhaite.

Festo was being held on $25,000 bail. He faces charges including driving under the influence, aggravated assault by auto and making terroristic threats.

Applewhaite was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with a bruised lung.
